Many clients tell me that they are so motivated to prepare their body for a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) but their providers tell them to “wait and see,” OR make them schedule a c-section in advance. I have seen so many times how this discourages moms because it feels like we are already “giving up,” weeks before the due date.

Wait and See?

I hear all the time, “I had an emergency c-section with my last baby and now I would like to do everything I can to help prepare me to have a vaginal birth.”

This is where we come in to be a part of your birth prep team. Our personalized approach is often times the missing piece of VBAC prep.

#1 Skill VBAC

Learning how to relax your pelvic floor through breath is a number one skill!

A relaxed pelvic floor gives baby more space to descend, supports smoother labor, and helps reduce the chances of tearing. It also makes pushing OR breathing baby out more efficient — which matters even more when you’ve had a previous cesarean.

This is where pelvic floor therapy makes a big difference.

How Pelvic Floor PT Supports Your VBAC

1. Releasing hidden pelvic floor tension
Many moms carry tightness in the pelvic floor, hips, and low back without realizing it.
We teach you how to soften those areas through breath work, exercises, and gentle release techniques so your body can work with labor, not against it.

2. Breath-before-push education
Most women are never taught how to push OR breathe during labor and delivery.

But efficient pushing OR breathing begins long before that moment — so you are not learning these skills while in the moment of delivery.

In therapy, we help you practice:
• Breathing that lengthens and relaxes the pelvic floor
• How to guide breathing without pelvic floor clenching
• Manual therapy to help prepare your pelvic floor, pelvis, hips, back and more to feel good in pregnancy and for birth.

These tools make the 2nd stage of labor feel less confusing and more intuitive.

You Can Prepare for a VBAC
With the right combination of manual therapy, relaxation, breath mechanics, mobility, and awareness, your body can feel supported through every stage of VBAC prep.
